Omaha, Nabraska- Vited in May 2008

Now its Spring time in US and its very pleasant. we (Me, Amit, Anshuman, Gaurav and Amya)decided to go to a nearby city called OMAHA in NABRASKA state (on 17-18 may, 2008). it happens to be the largest city of its state. It is on the edge of MISSOURI RIVER. it is the first city after crossing iowa state. It is also called GATEWAY TO THE WEST because of its central location as a transportation hub for US.
OMAHA has headquarter of many big US companies like BERKSHIRE HATHAWAY, UNION PECIFIC RAILROAD, VALMONT INDUSTRIES and CONAGRA.
We had only 2 days, in fact less than that, and one night... so we cud not cover up the whole city. Our main moto was to cover the HENRY DOORLY ZOO.
The HERY DOORLY ZOO is widely considered one of the premier zoos in the world. It houses the world's largest indoor rainforest exhibit, indoor desert exhibit, and nocturnal animal exhibit, the largest cat complex in North America, and one of the country's best aquariums outside of Seaworld.
Next attraction for us was its beautiful OLD MARKET PLACE, the historic downtown area. Whole area is divided in 12 blocks which has warehouses, variety of reastaurents, differents shops etc.
We also covered the main RIVERWALK. I dont know whether it was a co-incident or not, but there was a musical show going on. and it makes me feel like AMERICA which i used to watch on TV and Movies in India. The beautiful river of MISSOURI has a attractive riverfront which has boardwalk and trail where you can enjoy by foot, bicycle or even by boat. You can dine there also on the banks. We enjoyed by foot!!!

while going to Omaha, we took a short break for lunch (we packed our lunch with us) in a park in a very small and quite city ELK HORN in IOWA state. The city has the DANISH IMMIGRANT MUSEUM and a very huge DANISH WINDMILL too!!! we captured that thru our camera.
